Wow! It hardly seems possible that on Saturday, July 31, 2021 we will have been the owners of Hartford Greens Country Club (formerly Pole Valley Players Club) for 1 whole year! Time does fly when you’re having fun!
To all of the community members who have supported us since day one, THANK YOU! We honestly couldn’t do this without you. Your feedback and support are invaluable. We appreciate each and every one of you so very much.
Since taking over as course owners last July 31 (2020) we have been working tirelessly to improve course conditions and implement the changes requested by those of you in the community.
ONE YEAR OF MAKING GOLF COURSE IMPROVEMENTS
One of the first things we did was fix the bathrooms and the air conditioning inside them. We also had a new well drilled and water lines installed.
CART PATH
The conditions of the fairways were not too bad upon taking over the course. However ,the cart path and some other areas of the course (around ponds, etc.) had been neglected. So, in addition to regular course maintenance work, we’ve spent a lot of time working to improve the cart path conditions. We installed several drainage pipes throughout the cart path and laid lots of stone. We also replaced all of the path bridges and cut away overgrown brush and trees.
GOLF CARTS
When we took over the course the golf carts were all rentals. Those rentals were picked up from us in November (2020) without any warning. Thankfully, we were able to work with Five Star Carts out of Queensbury, NY to get rentals delivered in just a day, so we could stay open while the weather continued to allow for it into December of 2020.
This year we were able to purchase 35 all new 2021 EZ-Go Freedom TXT fuel injected golf carts! through Five Star Carts. These carts belong to us, which gives us much more flexibility in keeping the course open with carts.
SERVING FOOD AND ALCOHOL
One of the biggest pieces of feedback we received was for the course to serve food and alcohol. Although it took longer than we hoped, we were thrilled to get our liquor license earlier this month! And, we are working on getting our food concessions truck, The Grazin’ Grill, which is permanently located behind our Pro Shop, ready to serve to the public. We are currently looking to hire a grill cook. Interested applicants please send in an email, or give the course a call (518-632-9632) to schedule an interview.
PRO SHOP
Speaking of the Pro Shop, earlier this month it received a fresh coat of paint. The patio out front is near completion, with the hand-railings being finished up earlier this week.
EVENT TENT
Last year we put up a large tent to offer a better outdoor space for potential events and those participating in golf tournaments here at Hartford Greens Country Club.
This year, we had a concrete slab poured and we put the tent up over it. This space can be used by anyone looking to have a local space to rent for an event. It’s perfect for birthday parties, graduation parties, family reunions, wedding shower or baby shower!

ODDS AND ENDS

We worked with West Signs out of Hudson Falls, NY to get new tee signs for each of our 18 course holes.
We had new scorecards made.
We also had a new well drilled and water lines installed.
We made a little garden out behind the Pro Shop to take full advantage of our space.
