HGCC Course News Updates May 2021

HGCC News Updates- May 2021

Hey Golfers! We have been working hard to make those of you in the community proud to have Hartford Greens Country Club as your local golf course. We wanted to share some progress updates and exciting information on what we have in the works here at Hartford Greens Country Club. When we took over last year (July 31, 2021), we reached out to the community to see what they wanted to see done with the course. One of the comments we received most was that the cart path needed work.  During the off-season, we worked on the bridges throughout the course. We…

How to Repair Your Divot Find the turf that was sliced off from the fairway. If you’ve taken a “clean divot,” you’ll find the turf still in one, neat piece. New Welcome sign- made by Event Coordinator, Gary Scrime

Welcome ~ Thank You Sign

Our Event Coordinator, Gary Scrime, painted this new Welcome ~ Thank You sign, and he and his brother, Don Scrime, one of our Golf Shop Attendants, built the planter box together. The hostas are transplants from Gary’s garden. These guys have been keeping busy and making course improvements even on the rainy days. Great work, fellas!! The rainy/snowy April weather put a damper on a few days, but we allowed carts on the path, or played with the 90 degree rule. We are all looking forward to sunnier days, but any day spent on the course is a great day!!…

Hartford 7th Grader on Varsity golf team has a GREAT season

Joe Happy is a 7th grader playing on the Fort Ann/Hartford Varsity team, and he had a great season on the course.  He went 5-1 on the year and earned his first career “medalist” against Fort Edward. That goes to the low score for all the golfers playing in a given match.  Mason Forbes, a sophomore on the Fort Ann/Hartford Varsity team had a great year too. He went 4-2 and earned medalist 3 times. We at Hartford Greens Country Club were very pleased to see these young golfers out enjoying the course and to be the home course for…
